The Rakoczy riding championship

It is not just horse enthusiasts who are drawn each year to the “Rakoczy-Reitturnier” in the Au valley of Bad Kissingen. It is a social event where you can gather and marvel at the performances and achievements of both horse and rider.

The “S” class (schwere Klasse – difficult class) is especially thrilling, where you can hear murmurs of disappointment when a bar falls or cries of delight when both horse and rider finish the round with “no faults”.

Oldtimers come to visit

For owners and fans of vintage cars visit Bad Kissingen at Whitsuntide when over 150 vintage vehicles of different epochs and manufacturers assemble in support of the “Sachs Franken Classic”, in the spa resort. The residential areas, the “Regentenbau”, the Luitpold casino, the vast parks and gardens all set the scene for the wonderfully restored vehicles to start and end their round trip of the area. With its historical flair, Bad Kissingen is the ideal setting for the classic cars and their spectators.

Many of the resort hotels offer a wide range of entertainment, from dance bars to cocktail evenings. After enjoying a play at the theatre or listening to one of the many music events it is relaxing to be able to enjoy a drink in the hotel bar.
