The royal theater was built in 1905 by architect Max Littmann in the Franconian baroque style. It has three sections: the foyer, the auditorium, and the tall stage house. Littmann combined the shapes of an ancient theater with the playful style of the courtly rococo gallery theaters. It features walls covered in green fabric and silver-colored art nouveau ornaments, dark red upholstered seats, impressive stage skirting, stucco moldings, columns, and box supports covered in oxidized silver. Modern lighting and sound technology makes the spa theater perfect for talks, seminars, and events that call for a special setting.
